Disneyland – say it isn’t so!

I am beyond bummed out that they are closing my FAVORITE ride at Disney’s California Adventure – The Hollywood Tower of Terror.  If you haven’t experienced this one yet – GET to Disneyland California Adventure QUICKLY!  It will close January 2nd 2017 to add some other less fun ride (of course my opinion).

For the past few years we have gone during Thanksgiving week to Disneyland.  The first year we took our oldest son I was pregnant with our youngest son – and it was the very first time my husband had been to Disneyland (shame shame on him!).  We had a blast, well they did and I sorta did….being I was pregnant there were a few rides I could not ride – Tower of Terror was one and I was BUMMED, it really is a super fun ride.  Now that they are making a terrible decision (again my opinion and really who am I other than a huge fan of the ride!!!!) to close down my favorite CA Adventure ride; I need to see how we can swing another trip down to Mickey’s neck of the woods, maybe during Halloween time (I have never been during that time) – all decked out for Halloween AND the Tower of Terror will be operating “Late Check Out” where you free fall down in the DARK – sign me up!!

Now to stop being upset about them closing Tower of Terror let me tell you all about my favorites when we visit Mickey and his gang at California Adventure Disneyland……

Where to rest your head – if you can swing it and save save save the money – staying at the Grand Californian Disneyland is the way to go – it is simply amazing!  Right outside the hotel is Downtown Disney (shopping and restaurants), the pools are so great and you have a back entrance to California Adventure.  It really is amazing to stay there, if you can save money up to splurge I would recommend doing that.

California Adventure – my favorite attractions are: The Tower of Terror (I know you are surprised it ranked first!), California Screamin (a super super fast roller coaster) and Grizzly River Run (my older son loves this one, we ride over and over), Soarin around the world,  The Cars ride / Radiator Springs Racers I have yet to get onto – lines always soooo long and when we get to the fast-pass machine they are all gone for the day….I hear its great….just haven’t had the pleasure yet.  My boys enjoyed the following(not in any particular order): Flik’s Flyers, Jumpin Jellyfish, Luigis Rollickin Roadsters, Maters Junkyard Jamboree, Ariels Undersea Adventure.  Goofy’s Flight School my son and husband said it was a rough ride.  The parades are always a good time, get a spot early….a good viewing area is at the water fountain circle area at Buena Vista Street or along the street in Hollywood Land.

California Adventure – my favorite eats are:  Flo’s V8 Cafe, Carthay Circle Restaurant and Ariel’s Grotto.  I would recommend doing the World of Color show with the dinner package at Ariel’s Grotto (if you can be seated in a seat where you can view the show at the restaurant while the show is going do that, its wonderful).

California Adventure has beer!!!  I love this!!!

Oh and November to January the parks are themed out for Christmas…..Santa and Mrs. Clause are around also – we took a pic with Santa every year and used that for our holiday card.

I will post another with Disneyland fav’s as that will be much longer – lots to do there – but the where to lay your head will be the same!  oh I forgot – some rooms at the Grand Californian face where you can see the nightly fireworks!!!!  That was a real treat the year we scored that!  Got out of the crowd, ordered room service, got in our pj’s, curled up on the deck outside our room in blankets and enjoyed food and fireworks! Fantastic right???

here are a couple pics from my oldest sons first trip to California Adventure (I will spare you the memories from all the other years, smile)
